DADDY WAS BORN IN PRESCOTT, AZ........HE WAS THIRD IN A FAMILY OF 8......4 BOYS AND 4 GIRLS.  HIS FATHER DIED WHEN HE WAS A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL....WHEN HE GRADUATED HE WENT TO DENVER.....WHERE HIS SISTERS LIVED......TO GET A JOB.  HE GOT A JOB WITH "BELL TELEPHONE CO." AS A LINE MAN BUT SOON WAS MADE FOREMAN OF HIS CREW.....THEY WERE PUTTING IN PHONE LINES DOWN TO THE FOUR CORNERS AREA.......THAT IS WHY HE WAS DOWN IN MOTHER'S AREA OF COLORADO.....SHE LIVED IN MANCOS CO.  DADDY'S FAMILY WERE METHODISTS.              

HAZEL MARIE GOFF........MY MOTHER.......WAS THE PERFECT MOTHER FOR ME.....PRETTY, KIND, TALENTED, LOVED UNCONDITIONAL EVERY ONE.

MOTHER WAS BORN IN CARTHAGE,MO......SHE WAS THE FOURTH IN A FAMILY OF 6.....4 BOYS 2 GIRLS.  SHE CAME FROM A MUSICAL FAMILY.....LOVED TO PLAY THE PIANO.  SHE AND HER FOUR BROTHERS HAD A BAND IN HIGHSCHOOL...   MY DAD LOVED TO DANCE AND WOULD GO TO DANCES IN THE AREA ON WEEKENDS......AND MET MOM.  SHE WAS A SENIOR THEN.......WHEN SHE GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL.....SHE WENT BTO CALIFORNIA WHERE HER SISTER LIVED  WITH HER FAMILY.  IGUESS DADDY MISSED HER AND ASKED HER TO COME BACK AND MARRY HIM.....AND SHE DID!   BEFORE MY GRANDPARENTS LEFT CARTHAGE.....MY GRANDMA AND HER FOUR CHILDREN JOINED THE LDS RELIGION.......MY GRANDPA DID NOT JOIN THEN.......BUT DID JOIN EVENTUALLY AND EVEN BECAME A BISHOP.  MY GRANDPARENTS FIRST MOVED TO CORTEZ, COLO....BUT LATER MOVED TO MANCOS WHERE THE FAMILY GREW UP.

OCTOBER ALREADY........

LONG AGO.....THIS LADY AND I LOVED OCTOBER......ONE OF THE BEST TRAVELING MONTHS....NOW MY KIDS ARE DOING IT.....YESTERDAY WAS NICCI'S BIRTHDAY .....AND SCOTTIES IS NEXT.  KARRIE IS IN BOSTON WITH A FRIEND ON A DRIVING TRIP AND FRIDAY -PAM AND SHERRIE TAKE OFF ON A CRUISE.......I HAVE A NEW COMPUTER TO STRUGGLE THROUGH AND LEARN.....SO BE PATIENT.

 

ANOTHER CUTE DOG...

This is HUGO ........THE HAVANESE!

Hugo is Nicci's new puppy.....They had to put Ollie down and Tucker needed a dog......This brand of dog originated in Havana......too bad they don't stay little an cuddley....My family and their dogs!....All the kids have one or two and it has rubbed off on the grand kids....who all love their dogs.....Tiff had to put Captain down and they got Aaron a big lab that is five years old...a rescue dog named Marlin....my family just keeps growing.......And then Pam's new baby....Myzeka......which her other little Bree is not too happy about.

 

WHAT MADE ME .....ME.

ON THIS SATURDAY......5TH OF NOVEMBER 2022....I HAVE DECIDED I T IS TIME TO WRITE SOME OF MY LIFE EXPERIENCES.......THESE PEOPLE ARE WHERE I BEGAN.

MY FATHER WAS BORN IN PRESCOTT, AZ. WHEN HE GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL HE WENT TO DENVER WHERE HIS TWO BIG SISTERS WERE.  DAD WAS FROM A FAMILY OF 8.....4 BOYS AND 4 GIRLS......HE WAS NUMBER 3 IN THE FAMILY.   HE WENT TO WORK FOR THE "BELL TELEPHONE CO".....AS A LINEMAN.  SHORTLY AFTER HE WAS MADE FOREMAN OF HIS CREW.   THEY WERE PUTTING IN TELEPHONE LINE DOWN TO THE FOUR CORNERS AREA......WHICH MEANT A LOT OF MOVING.....BUT THAT IS HOW HE ENDED UP IN MOM'S AREA.

MOM WAS A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL.  SHE WAS A MUSITION......SHE AND HER 4 BROTHERS HAD A BAND.......MOM WAS FROM A FAMILY OF 6.....4 BOYS AND 2 GIRLS....SHE WAS NUMBER 4  SHE WAS BORN IN CARTHAGE, MO....THIS IS WHERE HER MOTHER AND THE FIRST FOUR KIDS WERE CONVERTED TO THE LDS CHURCH......MY GRANDPA JOINED LATER ANDF BECAME A BISHOP.....THEY MOVED TO COLORADO....GRANDPAS FATHER WAS THERE,.

DADDY LIKED TO DANCE AND SO THE TWO MET.  .....WHEN MOM GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL SHE WENT TO LA TO VISIT HER SISTERS FAMILY.....I GUESS THEY MISSED EACH OTHER AND HE ASK HER TO MARRY HIM AND THATS HOW IT ALL BEGAN.....

I remember that once upon a time......Labor Day meant school would start soon.....now days school starts a week or two before Labor Day in some areas!...It was new shoes.....and a Big Chief tablet.....a box of new crayons and a new pencil with an eraser.....no back packs?  I always liked school and had lots of friends.....I don't remember  Labor Day being a day we celebrated.....

 

THE LATEST....IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

Hilda seems very depressed.....worried about her.

Ivan recooperating from a colon operation.....and is at a care center......poor Gay getting worn out commuting,,,,Suzanne is struggling with her knee replacement....and  had to have it broken again and she hurts all the time.....and my next door neighbor Mark came down with Covid..... So they have been in quarentine all week.....My arthritis is the same.....I guess you can tell it is a bunch of old people here....And the bad news on TV just keeps getting worse day by day......wish somene would do something with Biden and Putin!!!!

I wish we had a "MR ROGERS"......to cheer up our neighborhood........

 

SEPTEMBER......

I guess my summer is gone......and Labor Day arrives tomorrow!  Spending a nice quiet holiday

at home....alone.  Yesterday I tended Panniers two dogs and they ran off to Wendover for the night.......the new puppy is cute but a handful.....just convinces me I am not up to dogs at 90......Been hanging out at home with our 102 degree temperature ever day....broke lots of records this summer for the heat.....

I did go over to Karrie's Friday and had lunch with her....and two great grandkids.....Lilly and Isla. They really are cute kids when you get to know them....and their parents are not around......

Sherrie finally got her pool in and said Olivia loves it......Brayden and Libby were setting up their tent in Sherrie's back yard to camp out for the night.....and enjoy the pool!......My idea of camping......close to a bathroom......

 

NEW BABY.....

This is my 7th great-grandchild ......in December?

Congratulations Richi and Anna......a girl.

It is really apretty picture......but in my day.....you would die before you showed your bare pg stomach! And my poor grandma Goff would not even say pregnant.....it was always....."they were that way"........boy have times changed......but I guess it is what it is!

 

RUN AWAY....

Every one has those days.....but are just too tired to carry through......another very quiet weekend.....and I hurt today....as usual.  Talked to Jim and  Les......both have their health problems to deal with.  Les now dealing with skin grafts on leg and Jim waiting to see if his cancer has gone into his bones.....mine arthritis.......

Yesterday.....I went over to Karrie's for lunch with her.... and.grandbabies Lilly and Isla. So fun to get to know them and be with Karrie.  Sherrie and Ken in Montana....Ken doing a dinasuer dig.....The Panniers in Schofield with Tiff's family....

One of my favorite neighbors.....Ivan Hill had to have his colon out Wednesday.....poor Gay is all shook up.  Terrible getting old......

My family is what keeps me going.....Richie and Anna off to Fiji yesterday.....my family are traveling people!

OLIVIA WINS SECOND....

My darling one year old 0LIVIA.....great granddaughter.....won second place in the cute babies contest at the Vernal fair in her age group...Sher said alot of competition in this age group....What a happy grandma Sherrie was and also the parents were pretty proud.....This little one has been so fun all year and now she is walking and starting to talk......even more fun! CONGRATULATIONS OLIVIA.......

 

SAGE FIRST PLACE......

Why am I not surprised my cute four month old great granddaughterr won "FIRST PLACE".....in the cute baby contest at the Vernal fair in her age group...way to go SAGE ADDISON CHRISTENSON.......Congratulations to mom and dad.....this will be the first of many!

 

TAMMY'S FUNERAL....

I just finished watching Tammy's funeral on U tube.....never done that before......thanks Mike.....H e called Pam who was in St, George for the weekend and she helped me set it up...then I could not hear the first two speakers.....and Sherrie called to tell me my two great-granddaughters had won   first and second in the cute babies contest at the Vernal fair and told me where on the computer to get the sound....soooo heard most the funeral.....sad...sad....and my heart breaks for the family.....the whole town shut down to go to the funeral.....loved Kristi's poem...cried all the way through it....something my Mom would write.  She will be missed!

    My son-in-law....#3  31 years now,  He loves golf and my two great-granddaughters from his daughter Annie....my granddaughter.....He and Karrie love to travel.   I had four birthdays in the last five days......busy August.....plus Moms.

65 YEARS AGO ...YESTERDAY...I BECAME A MOTHER.......

To most girls this is the most wonderful blessing you can have....I got the girl I wanted.....PAMELA MARIE.....she was precious.......and for almost 11 years she was my only child...always "my rock"......and still is 65 years later.  This is Pam...her husband Rob....and first gandchild Aaron....she is such a good grammy....We celebrated her birthday with Karrie for lunch and she is off to St. George for the weekend.....with dogs Bree and new puppy Myzeka. I wish her the best of birthdays and want her to know.....I couln't get along without her....as she is so good to me in my old age.  Happy Birthday honey.

Happy Birthday Mom.....I miss you every day....and think of all the good things you taught me and the wonderful example you set for me to follow....and also as the best of grandmas.  You were truly one of God's earth angels.....and many people loved you as I did......you would be 110 today.....hope you are enjoying today with daddy...Jo...Dixie and many more.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my 3rd granddaughter Andrea Rachelle Fritzie.....She is 26.  She is married and  has given me two darling great-grandchildren....Lilly and Isla....This is Matt....MR PERFECT.....we thought she was Waiting for a missionary....MR WONDERFUL.....but along came MR PERFCT.....and won her heart!!!! Happy Birthday Annie.

 

SAD DAY....

Our darling Tammy was taken to heaven Friday.....ev ery time I try and write about her I cry......for her family.   I have pictures of her on my I pad but do not know how to transfer them to my computer.....so will later when I can get some help......A terrible accident ..... so sudden......when she had stopped to help someone in a car wreck.....it was raining and she was trying to get 911 and didn't see a car barelling down toward them and it started hydroplaneing and hit her! I feel so sorry for my sister....her mother-in-law....Kevin, Tammy, Kirk and Tamrie....Her husband.....and 3 childen....She was a earth angel to many ......her town of Winslow, AZ is in morning....as her exended family is.  So young to die.....when there are so many around that do nothing to better our world.....so hard to understand these things......but guess God has a reason. We will miss you Tammy and pray for your sweet loved ones who will miss you so much.

 

BILL TURNS 40

40 May seem old to Bill.....it did  to me .....when I was 40....50 years ago......life was just beginning.  He and Nicci are such a cute couple.....and two of the smartest people I know.  They added a darling little boy to the family 3 years ago......named Tucker.....they just put Ollie...who had been the baby a long time....down......But will get the new puppy for Tucker in a couple of weeks....Perfect family.

RAINBOW.....

I have seen a lot of rainbows in my 90 years......But this one was so big and bright....and double....and went from the lake to town right over Alex's house.....the day before Sage was blessed.  This is Sherrie's back yard...with hay fields between she and Alex's house. We felt it was a sign of a good 4th of July weekend.  Sherrie and a neighbor own the hill you see in the   background.....

BLESSING DAY FOR SAGE

So happy to still be around to enjoy my great-gandchild's blessing. Sage Addison Christenson.....she was so good through it all and so pretty in a special dress.  It was the second of July.....so I am a little late......This is Sherrie;s cute family.....we went up to Alex's house after wards for brunch and got to see the remodel.....they have done so much work and it is so nice....Enjoy Ashlyn's parents and her twin brothers wives are both pregnant....more babies for   that family....I was the only one there from alex's side of the family.....none of the Christensons drove out....and none of the Petersons showed up.....

 

SCOTTY ....YOUNGEST GRANDCHILD......

This is my youngest of nine...Scott. Tall ..blond and handsome.....and fun....taken on my 90th birthday.  He has had a bad round of cancer for someone his age...but bounced back and enjoying UVU .....girls....and traveling.  The nice thing I love is he will take me to movies and out to eat and does nice things for me.....I can't say that about all the grandsons.....but most of them.  I am a very lucky grandma!

KERMIT.....

Kermit says it best.....I wake up......then lay there and lay there amd lay there!  I know I have to get up.....because my bladder tells me so.....but I am so tired and hurt every where......and want to roll over amd take this day to rest up........but it doesn't happen.

Yesterday was house cleaning day......and today grocery shopping day....and tomorrow will happen....so Kermit and I are out of luck with our wish.  I need tocall Pam and see how she is surving her new puppy......and see how Bree is getting along with her new play mate?  

 

GREAT GRANDKIDS....

Some people do not get grandkids....or are lucky with one or two......I was lucky and got 9 grandkids.....AND so far ...... 6 and a half......Great grandkids!  When all together like for my 90th birthday party.....can be a handful of love.......four girls and two boys and the one on the way a    girl.  I am amazed how my grandsons can take over with their little ones....real Mr Moms. Aaron and Tucker.....holding Olivia....Isla and Lilly.....Sage not here yet.

 

NO REUESTS....JUST THANK YOU GOD.

Monday morning.....I was able to crawl out of bed and see a beautiful summer day.....The Merry Maids came and cleaned the house....I have plenty to eat and a great bed with a hot pad that helps the arthritis.....I can kinda hear...kinda see....and kinda walk....but I can.  I can still drive to the store...I can kinda work my cell phone and my computer.....have great neighbors and can nap when I want.....Life is good at 90!

 

ROBBY AND MYSEKA

This is th newest hairy grandchild.........Myzeka.....tiny....tiny baby sister for Bree.  She can not stand her.  I kept them both Saturday night....Bree hid out and wouldn't eat till Pam came home Sunday.  MYZEKA is so little and cute and cried all night and would not stay in her pen...now I remember why I don;t want another dog.  She was named when Pam got her....her name means "coal" in some foreign language.....and she is as black as coal.  I hope the next time I tend her....she is sleeping all night.

 

SUMMER FLYING BY.....

July was hot and windy and Salt Lake broke a record for three digit temperatures ever......I did have a nice 4th of July in Vernal with the Christensons......but Pioneer Day was just another day....so hot and dry very few fireworks.  Blessed Sage was the high light of the month......she is three months old already......and the news is out.....a baby girl for Richie and Anna!  August big month for family birthdays.....Pam turns 65.....Tucker 3.....Brayden and Andrea a day apart at 26.....I think? Jon Keller 80 and Mike I'm not sure.,,,Big Rich about 57.

Soooo happy to have Robby home for good and back to his old job at Amazon....got some rain today......thank you God.....another quiet weekend.  The Cooks went to Florida...The Panniers off to a friends cabin for the night....Sher called.....she and Ken were going to a movie......... in Vernal of course.

 

A NEW PEEING PUPPY!

I am grandma and great-grandma to 15 four legged hairy grandkids......MY FAMILY LOVE THEIR DOGS!

The latest is a black teacup named Myzeka.....tiny, squeeky cute little thing.....the Panniers got it last night.....they were invited to spend the night with friends at their cabin.....so grandma has it and Bree for the night.....Bree is not happy with a new little sister.

Tiff and Scott just got a new five year old rescue dog ....a white lab.....for Aaron.....named Marlin.  Will and Liz have two dogs and Nicci and Bill get their new Havanise puppy the end of   the month..... that makes 6 for the Panniers......

The Cook's have two golden retrievers....Richie and Anna have a police dog and a little black dog and I can't remember their names.....Matt and Andrea have two dogs a hunting dog and a house dog.....Scott claims his parents dogs.....6 for the Cooks.

Sherrie has Bonzie for Ken....Alex an Ashlyn have three dogs...Big red and molly and a cute little black dog named Milly.....Brayden and Libby had a cute little dog named Kloe but gave it to Darren.......4 for Christensons!

Yes, I have tended some of them at one time or another.......

GOD KNOWS.......

37 Years ago today......my X walks in and announces he has just filed for divorce......and was suing me for mental cruelty!

After 30 years of marriage......3 beautful daughters .......and two grand children......and 3 years till   retirement.....he is willing to give up so much for a grey headed catholic woman 4 years younger than me.

16 months later of fighting and hurt I walked away single with the twins to start a new chapter in my life....knowing we deserved better than him...and I guess God did too.

I bought a condo......the girls finished college......got married and gave me 9 wonderful grandchildren......I started traveling....and made it around the world......and never been happier....

I have thanked God many times for setting me free for the life I deserved.

 

TODAY'......

Today is a new day.....

God has given me this day to do as I will......

I can waste it...or use it well.....BUT what I do with this day is important

because I am exchanging a day of my life for it!

Tomorrow this day will be gone forever.....leaving in it's place what I traded it for....

I want it to be a win....not a loss

A success....not a failure

Good not bad......

In order that I will never regret the price I paid for this day.......Amen

Olivia is Brayden's and is one and Sage is Alex's and two months.  

 

JULY GOING BY FAST......

Love this daddy daughter picture......our Olivia is getting so cute....but will not walk!  Had a great weekend blessing Sage and celebrating the 4th of July in Vernal with the Christensons. s pent the week recooperating.....The Christensons.....Pam and Aaron went to Disney Land last week.....Pam called today to say she tested and has Covid AGAIN!  Rob went back to Detroit for another three weeks....hope he gets back here soon......for good.  Been in the three degit numbers weather wise all week.....not normal for our state.

 

FIRST PEEK.....

Alex and Ashlyn.....taking a first peek a baby Sage Addison Christenson.....We are so thrilled she is here safe and sound.....and doing good.....almost two months old.....

Pam and Rob got home late last night and Bree was happy to see Pam.....and Rob glad to be back home after a year in Detroit with Amazon.......they loaded up their motor home and headed for Island Park today for the 4th of July....and some fishing.

Didn't sleep last night so canceled the movie...."ELVIS" with Les and Kris today...had two naps! At my age I am just taking one day at a time.....and listening to my body.....

 

SISTERS IN 6-2022

Can't imagine who this is with Leslie?  I don't recognize me anymore.....All I can say is....some old bag.  We are 11 years apart....wonder what she will look like in 11 years and she is 90?  So nice having she and Kristi come visit and have lunch in between Anna's baseball tournament.....Her knee replacement is slowing healing.....been a long haul.  Sisters are the greatest!

Scott and I on my 90th birthday......so lucky this tall gorgeous guy is mine!  He is the youngest of my 9 grandchildren.....survived a terrible round of cancer......but licked it and is a college boy now.  He took me to see "Spider Man".....what 20 year old would do that for his 90 yeear old grammie?  Love you Scotty.

 

ROBBIE TURNS 65......

Happy birthday Rob.....yesterday!

The 21st is the longest day of the year.......now the days get shorter till December 21st. Aaron made him a grandpa 7 years ago.  As of today he and Pam are driving him home from Detroit where he has been working with Amazon for a year....we have missed him......I am dog sitting Bree.  Pam and Rob are heading up to Island Park in the trailor for the 4th of July.....then Pam and Aaron are off to Disney Land with Sherries family.....that travel bug is big in her.

Leslie and Kristi  surprised me yesterday.....been a couple of years since I had seen them.....before all of Leslies surgerys.....she is still trying to get use to her new knee. They brought Anna up for a  baseball tournament.

FRIENDS.....

These cute people with Sherrie are friends that are still close since high school......Mike and Tom spent alot of time at my house in highschool......the boys I never had and the brothers the girls never had....I Was always Mrs P to all the kids that hung out with the girls.  The girl is Doctor Kim......a pedetrition.....still good friend with the twins.....they all still include me in their circle of best friends.  Tom was Karrie's first date in the eighth grade for their graduation dance...his folks had to drive them.....long time ago.......

 

LONGEST DAY OF THE YEAR.....

Notice the airplane above us.......left over birthday decorations....Ken and Scottie tall wonderful grandsons.....so lucky.

Tomorrow is the longest day of the year....darn.....I love the long days......even though I go to bed when it is still light sometimes.....my back yard with fountain and flowers is my "go to place". Tomorrow is also Robbie's 65th birthday.....Tomorrow Pam is flying back to Detroit to help him drive home after working there a very long year!!!....I will tend Bree for her.

Lilly and Isla are Andrea's girls....holding Olivia who belongs to Libby and Brayden.  Aaron holding Tucker.....they belong to Tiffany and Nicci.  Since this picture Alex and Ashlyn have added Sage.  Richie and Anna expect one in December...making 7!  Feel so lucky to get to know these precious little ones.

 

WHO CAN THIS BE?

When I look at this picture I wonder whose body I am in?  The real me has not changed over 90 years....but the body I am in....has!  I am thankful for the 90 years God has given me....for my mind that still works and I am mobil......and still driving.....BUT my hair is grey.....deaf in one ear....trouble with my eyes and tired all the time......I am so thankful for my three girls and their families.....and now 6 and a half great-grandkids.....my family just keeps growing.  I guess I can just be thankful my life isn't about how I look any more...and it's been a good body for 90 long years....no warrenty on my parts....and I did have a great 90th birthday.

When I look at this picture......I wonder whose body I am in?  This is someone OLD and grey and skinny......and 90 years old.  I am not those things in my mind.....and never wanted to be.

 

SURPRISE.......

Thank goodness the days of the past have helped us all move on.....Karrie popped in yesterday with lunch and a jubilee pin for me she got in London last week.......England just celebrated 70 years as Queen Elizabeths time on the throne.....we had a great talk about her trip to Ireland and England......they went to Ireland so Richard and friend could play in a golf tournament......but guess what?......the airline lost their luggage and he had to rent clubs to play....buy some clothes

 and spend hours trying to trace the luggage......The England portion of the trip went better....Nope, they still don't have luggage.....and a lesson learned.....take out insurance when you travel now days.

More sad news......they had to put Nicci's dog OLLIE down yesterday....he was 11 years old...Tucker will miss him.

 

TIFFANY IS 40 TODAY.....

40 years ago I became a grandma for the first time!  Pam had Tiffany.....and I fell in love with her.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY......2022

Hope everyone with a father had a nice day........Pam....william and I went out for dinner to celebrate for you.....My dear father is gone.....as is my girls father...but many memories linger on and we think of them today.... William tried to help me figure out transporting my new pictures to my computer's galary.....hope I can remember.  Here we are in the middle of June and two weeks or so since I got around to Blogging.....been a pretty quiet month for me.

Last weekend Alex and Ashlyn and Sage spent a night with me.....so glad I got to see the new baby and love her......she is precious....and they are such cute parents.

Wednesday the six neighborhood ladies went to lunch to celebrate two of their birthdays.....so lucky to have the neighbors I do.......Been so windy all week...but warm.
