ASSUMPTIONS.......

AS I LOOK AT THIS PICTURE OF WILLIAM AND DIANA......CAN I POSSIBLY FEEL I KNOW ALL ABOUT THEM???

What do we think we know about other people?  Do we see people's faces and decide we know exactly what they are thinking or feeling?  Do we see strangers and assume they think. act, and live  a certain way based on how they are dressed?  

We often make even more assumptions about people close to us.......We believe that because someone is our wife, daughter, husband, mother, son, father, lover  or friend that person will think, feel or act in a certain way......We may be missing out on  happier relationships by choosing our assumptions over reality.....

I feel assuming is one of my bad habits and was probably started very early in my life.....If they have a lot of tattoos or pierced nose, lip etc. I immediately put them in my......move on category.....or they are less than.....never knowing anything about them......I hate it when someone assumes something about me.....without checking first...and it has happened a few times.......So I am trying not to just assume anything.......

I REALLY LOVE CROSSING THINGS OFF MY TO-DO LIST!!!!!

YES....I MADE IT TO ALL 50 STATES.....6 OF THE 7 CONTENTS AND ABOUT 120 COUNTRIES!!!!! OR AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 YEARS!!!

AND THIS WEEK I GOT MY HALF BATH WALL-PAPERED?

IT LOOKS LIKE SOME LOCAL BAR.....BUT IT IS ME.  WALL PAPER HAS VENICE, ENGLAND AND  PARIS ETC..... IN BLACK AND RED ON A WHITE BACK GROUND.....

 I FRAMED PICTURES OF ME FROM MY AROUND THE WORLD...MY OLD PASS PORT ....LOVE IT! SO FUN GETTING FUN THINGS DONE.....

FAMILY BUSINESS.....

Well last week it was a wedding shower for my oldest grandson and finance...... getting married the 12 of September.......This week it was a wedding shower for the next grandson and his finance......I was not able to attend Ashlyn's in Vernal last Saturday.....because they are getting married the 28th  or next Saturday....... This Saturday I went down to the Convention Center with Mike, Kirk and Nannie.....So nice to see them celebrate our pioneers every year......Music from Rogers and Hammerstein's.....and his grandson was the MC......the place was packed......Our 24th of July celebration is much bigger than the 4th of July.....Anyway......Kay took Ken back to Vernal this weekend and ended up being a circus!!!!  She went to the shower and brought Ken home.....Ken has tomorrow and all of next week......and then our 2 yr mission is over.....He is released the 3rd of August......I will be going to Vernal Friday afternoon with TIFF and Aaron and we will stay till Sunday.....And help Sher get things ready for the wedding in her back yard........That is what families are for!!!!!

DAYS FLYING BY......

I am trying to remember what I did last week????

One thing was a bridal shower for Liz......at one of Pam's friends home.   It was a fun afternoon and there were lots of fun people there.   Liz and Will have gone together since they were seniors in high school.....all through college and have been living together the past five years....bought a house and have two dogs...Aspen and Rennie..Liz is very pretty.....sophisticated.....a society girl and good for Will......In Grandma's opinion.......which doesn't count for much......IT IS ABOUT TIME!

Good friend Patty didn't make it over for coffee as she is getting her house painted,,,,I did shop some and bought some wall paper for my half bath....now to get it up!  I am so tired all the time and it has been very hot here.

Ken and I went to see Transylvania #3 last night.....he is counting the days till his mission ends.....it has been an interesting two years for both of us.  His family busy getting their place in shape for Alex's wedding in 10 days.....Brayden and Libby will be home from Texas tomorrow.

Here we are almost to another weekend.....Darren just got a new church calling looks like he could be Bishop one day.......will be set apart Sunday so Ken will probably go home this weekend for it.

FAMILY TREE.....

OH MAXINE...WHAT ARE WE TO DO????!

My family keeps at me to do more and trace where I came from.....I do appreciate all the time and effort they have put into finding I am.....the 8th cousin once removed from OBAMA!!!!! I say we have gone far enough!  I know those who came before me....and have made me ...ME..... was not an easy life for them either....compared to mine today and I say thank you....thank you!...I love my great grand parents on my father's side were both born in England.....THE YEOMANS.......which has helped my DNA show I am 99.9 percent British.....Maybe some of us are meant to be concerned about our herritage and others ....not so much?  Yes, I am also related to a few famous people like Amelia Earhart and Humphrey Bogart......etc.....but they are also related to ME!

I am afraid if I start to trace our tree.....I will only find my Family tree  grew some nut and was pretty shady!!!!  I will pray about this.......

HO-HUM.......

MADE IT THROUGH FRIDAY 13TH JUST FINE.......AND HERE WE ARE A TYPICAL SATURDAY NIGHT IN ZION......

Ken went home for the weekend......It is too light to put my PJ"S on at 7:00......I have had my potato chips and dip for dinner and watered my flowers......nothing good on TV.....the neighbor has been by to pick up her mail I got all week while she was in Lake Powell melting????  I still have Bree and don't know when they plan to pick her up......Talked to Sher.....she had had a long day and so busy getting ready for the wedding in her back yard in two weeks......Brayden and Libby will be home from Texas Thursday......She was happy Karrie and her family RSVP'ed they planned to be to the wedding .....also Tami Norton said she was coming......

I"M RELATED!!!

A couple of years ago I went to a Broadway Play to see  "The BOOK OF MORMON" when I was  in New York and loved it.......Now my nephew's son....Chase Ramsey.....is back- up to the lead-performer and will be doing a matinee next week......So proud of him.  

He has been doing a fun food show in California and was even involved with Disney.....My mother would have been so excited if she were alive as she loved Music etc.  He inherited his talents from his cute Dad .......Mike Ramsey.....who has performed in many plays around the valley....So proud of my family.

FRIDAY THE 13th......

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR......YOU MIGHT GET IT?  LIKE SUMMER.....We hit the 101 degree so convinced summer is here.  Stayed home two days last week as I didn't want to face the sun......Oh for the days I laid out in the sun and cooked with baby oil and iodine to get a neat tan....AND I am paying for it now with all these strange things growing on me?

Friday the 13th started off very nice.....Pam came by with her dog for me to tend tonight and we had a nice visit and Patty came by for coffee.....then a little nap.  Looking forward to a quiet weekend...Ken going to Vernal.....three weeks to go on his....our....mission.   Sunday have a wedding shower for Liz to go to with Pam and Tiff.

Watched Trump meet the Queen of England awhile ago....history being made.  Queen Elizabeth has met 11 of the last 12 Presidents in her 62 years as Queen.  Lyndon Johnson did not go to England.

QUIET IS GOOD.......

As I look back......I spent too many days trying to be the best of the best!

Sometimes I feel guilty not going out and volunteering for all the lists they pass at church....I TRY to think back......have you done some good today?????  Take Wednesday.....I picked up Shirley for Mexican Train.....her car was in the shop......she needed some dog food so off to Walmart and  then to stop and feed Pams gold fish and water her plants on the way home.....when I got home the yard people were trimming my bushes so I took them out some cold water.......Do these good deeds count on being kind and helpful ?

Ken gone for the weekend...101 today.....so too hot to go shop.....slept most the day....Yes, I love peace and quiet and potato chips and dip for dinner.......Talked to Sher.....Ken and Darren flew home safely.....too many fires around Duschene to drive.  Bray and Libby will be home from Texas the 21st.......YES!  enjoying the weekend!!!

GOOD NEWS....BAD NEWS??

This Grandmother is coming to the end of another chapter in her life.....One I never dreamed I would be involved in!

I have been my grandson's Mission Companion for almost two years as Ken served a service mission on Temple Square and lived with me.....Up at six.....he fixed his own breakfast....then we had the blessing...me in the morning....Ken at night.  Turned on Scriptures...we read the book of Mormon and are now on the New Testament......one scripture  at a time......YES, at first there were some unsure moments......I live a few blocks from the tracks stop...he would drive his pickup down there ,show his ticket and get off down town and walk over to Temple Square where he worked in the postal area.

Lunch at the cafeteria.......or walk over to the City Mall and eat ...but one of his favorites was the Nauvoo Cafe......he liked their chicken pot pies!  Then a half hour ride back to our stop....hop in his truck and drive home......Change his clothes and shower and dinner at 6:30.....I always let him choose the time and what we would eat.....once the meat pies got done a little early and I called him up for dinner......where I was informed......'ACTUALLY I SAID 6:30"....so being......a good missionary companion I told him I would leave the pie in the oven to keep it warm for him.....NOW......we "actually'..... eat at 6:30!  Getting along with your Missionary Companion is really important!

Everyone is different....but the same.....You...ME.....Your neighbor.....God made us that way to fill all the jobs he has for us on earth.  I will always remember the kindness Ken has shown me,,,,,More than once as I have fallen asleep laying in bed watching TV....He has carefully removed my glasses and turned off the TV and tucked me in......and he has taught me "PATIENCE"......we all move at our own pace!!!!!  Some of my favorite memories are when we called Vernal and ask......"is this dial a prayer?"......And at the other end is Darren or Sherrie and on speaker phone they say our nightly prayers with us......so special......Sherrie told me Ken's last day of mission is August 3rd......his home coming Aug 19th.......Thanks Ken and I can hardly wait to see what is next in your life!  And I hope your GRAM is around to share it with you.....LOVE YOY

TEARS........

"Tears are a signal that we need care from ourselves or others"........SO TRUE!
I don't know why the tears come so easily now as I grow older and look back on raising three girls.....I know I only love them more and I think they love me in their way;......As they become mothers.....and grandmother's and every one gets very busy with their lives you seem to be at the bottom of "THE CARE" list.....but am I not guilty of that also???  Did my folks sometimes feel the same way?  It seems to be worse on weekends and holidays.....Patty called and wanted to come over but never made it as I guess Lisa took the car and didn't get home before we were suppose to go to CHUCK-A-RAMA......for dinner.....which didn't happen!  Thank goodness for friends and my sister!
Suck it up Cupcake.....life  goes on......

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY????

THIS IS MY FOURTH OF JULY PRAYER!!!!

AS FOR MINE......NOT SO MUCH,,,,,,,

KEN got up hoping his parents would be in to go see Jurassic Park with him but they were informed last nigh to prepare to EVACUTE.....their home as the fire was just over the hill.....NOT FUN.....Sher said she filled the car with pictures etc . and hucked up the horse trailer to get the horses out!!!!  Thank goodness the wind turned directions and I think they were saved.....but felt they needed to be their to keep an eye on things......of course home-sick kids don't realize this....SO  I suggested a movie with me.....shopping......dinner out.....but all his answers were NO.!  And when Ken says No.....after two years you know that NO......means NO.....So we have sat home on the FOURTH OF JULY......and are eating meat pies for dinner......YEA!......Maybe someone in the neighborhood will light some fire works for me......come on Betty grow up?

The Panniers are in Island Park having an annual FOURTH OF JULY PARTY.....Christensons just hanging in Vernal......Leslie said Mesquite was too hot to venture out so was having her kids come by for dinner,,,,,Is it our generation or our age?  Growing up the Fourth of July was something fun and exciting and I loved it!  Yes it is hot in SLC.......
