ALL BOY.......

This is my Aaron......and he is all boy.....which is as it should be.  He spent the weekend up at his grandparents cabin in Idaho and loved the dirt and rocks and freedom.  He is two and a half now and always on the go.  It is so fun to watch him grow up......but way to fast.
A thought;   Some of the most generous people.......have no money
Some of the wisest people......have no education
Some of the kindest people were hurt the most!

MEMORIAL WEEKEND......

A very quiet Memorial Day weekend......Ken went to Vernal.  I had the dog groomed, slept in every morning, chatted with neighbors and shopped.  I have no family graves here.....so there was no trip to the cemetery to put out flowers.......which was big when I was growing up and mother gathered all the flowers in bloom and off we kids went with her to help clean up the graves and put a flower on them.  My grandparents, cousins etc......now the job has grown with my parents and aunts and uncles added to the list.......we no longer have family in our little town to carry on the tradition, but we never forget them in our hearts.
A big priority......remember our wonderful service men who have died to keep us free.....I guess every day is memorial day in one form or another as we always miss those loved ones who are gone.

IT'S TIME.......

Did you ever stop and say......."It's my time .....before it is too late.....to buy yourself some flowers, go to your favorite place to eat or buy one more pair of shoes.......you don't need?"
It is a woman's nature to offer encouragement, understanding, and reassurance to others.....to be a voice of reason, a shoulder to lean on and a positive force in the lives of your family and friends......but for some reason we don't take time out to encourage, understand and reassure ourselves......whatever goes wrong in our lives.....we seem to think or feel it is our fault......bad marriage, children acting out, debts, maybe sickness?  We carry so much guilt.....but we have got to get to the point we stop blaming ourselves for things we cannot control......we are worthy of more. That is my lecture to me for the day!!!!

SOMETIMES I AM NOT SURE.......

Maxine so has it figured out......here it is Saturday night......Memorial Day weekend end.....when every one is off celebrating somewhere fun......why not hit the wine country.....that is the back yard with a bottle of wine and a bottle opener......and it wouldn't be drinking alone because I have my dog Gigi with me......only problem I didn't pick up a bottle of wine!  Not good planning on my part.
Life is short......and I need to keep smiling......while I still have teeth......so often you feel like throwing in the towel......then you remember that would just mean more laundry for me to do.....  Sometimes I'm not sure if life is just passing me by or trying to run me over......but I am here for a good time and hopefully a long time.  I guess I am just spoiled......I had two great trips in the past two months.....and so great to have all 50 states under my belt....got to see cousins Tom and Jon and have lunch with Tammy and Tamrie......Then had a good visit with my sweet granddaughter Nicci.
I also quote Maxine......."20 years ago we had Johnny Cash, Bob Hope, and Steve Jobs.  Now we have.......No Cash.....No Hope....and No Jobs!  Please don't let Kevin Bacon die!"

WHERE DID THE WEEK GO?

I guess the only way to get through this life is to like yourself and be positive..........seems I slept most of last week away.....Patty came for coffee, i did clean house and get ready for The Domino group on Thursday......talked to Leslie but she was working five days ,,,,,then spending the weekend on a ball trip to Price.  Panniers left Thursday for the cabin and all the kids were going up for Memorial Day and the long weekend......well, not Nicci.  Talked to Sher about every day.....she has been so busy, and Ken went home for the weekend, he got to have Monday off.  No good movies out so just setting around knitting!!!
I guess it is good advice;  Don't close the book when bad things happen in your life......just turn the page and begin a new chapter.

SUNDAY.....SUNDAY

Up early to let the dogs out......raining, so went back to bed for another hour......so did the dogs....With church starting at 11:00 now days.....sleeping in on Sundays is great.   Ken was here for the weekend....so off to church, dinner and now a quiet afternoon.  As I sat and listened to the men who talked today......I tried hard to concentrate on their talks.  The first one wandered and and seemed confused so naturally I became judgmental!!!!! SO bad.....I did not know his past....I had not walked in his shoes, down his path of life, lived his sorrows, doubts , fears and pain.....I must tell myself, everyone has a story and we can't judge.
The next man made more sense.....do we have a recited prayer we say each day....just to say we prayed or do we ask for and thank God for different blessings each day......I am in the middle ....but I must contemplate this thought a little more thoroughly.....Not waste God time ......
Busy week ahead......Relief Society teachers in the morning,  time to change the oil in the car...  Tuesday.....Patty's birthday.....movie and lunch.....and maybe Ken a hair cut.  Wednesday, clean house and shop for the Domino group at my house Thursday.....and if I am still alive Friday I might sleep all day!
You know your really stressed.....when you start getting on your own nervers??????

MY IDOL....AUNTY ACID

Everyone needs an idol to look up to and follow............   I think i have found mine.......Aunty Acid!!!  She just knows what to say and when to say it.....and so many times I just agree.  Who but an old.....crazy woman would parade around Fargo, North Dakota wearing a blinking tiera, bandello and T-shirt saying "50 looks good on you"......Aunty Acid would.......and I did!
Two things that really grind my gears are people and technology or......even worse......kids and technology......had to ask my 19 year old grandson to put a new phone number in my cell....gone are the days when I could do all those kind of things for myself!  I will never learn to conquer "candy crush"......my oldest daughter showed me some tricks.....When I go on line to check the weather......three hours later I finally manage......and by then the weather has changed!  If it weren't for the kids and grandkids.......I would still be operating my life with a dial phone, a radio and a record machine for music......they refuse to let me be "old" .......and back in the good ole days.
