MARCH OUT...APRIL IN......

Today the end of March....it has gone fast.....and tomorrow April Fool's Day!..April a busy birthday month in this family.....Twins....Me....Brother JIM.....grandson Ken and Libby.....As I look back over 90 years of birthdays......some stand out!  When I turned 70.....the girls told me to dress up as we were going to a wedding......In my silk pant suit and cashmere coat with real fox fur collar and cuffs ......I felt ready.  Darren and Robby picked me up in the Christenson's ROYAL ROYCE....with a jar of Poopon Mustard in the back seat...(seems there was a comercial at that time with the mustard riding around in that car)......and a crown and whisked me off to the Grand American Hotel.....As I climbed out.....carrying my jar of mustard.....people were whispering who is that...arriving in a car like that etc......The three girls and Rich were waiting for me in a nice room upstairs with a bouquet of 70 red roses......snacks......and new p j;s toothbrush etc. and told me we ...the girls and I...... were staying all night. Soon it was time to go to the wedding.....which turned out to be a play at Trolley Square....Sally marries Harry....or something like that...after their marriage the audience were to stay for the dinner and dancing......fun!  Back to the hotel for a slumber party with the girls and the boys went home to tend the kids.  Breakfast was room service ..... spoiled.  Then we checked out of the room and went to Trolley Square for lunch in the rain,,,,,When my sister Jo was dying of cancer she said...."when I am gone I will  leave penny's and you will know I am with you"...At the front door in a puddle of water......were 7 pennies!!!

A birthday I will always remember and what wonderful kids......

Last year.....the COOK family arrived with 89 balloons and turned them loose in my house...they went up in my high ceilings and entertained me and the neighbors for a couple of weeks......As they slowly floated down...several each night....I would take them out doors and toss them into the wind to fly over the neighborhood with my good wishes.....so fun.

I am so lucky to be having another birthday.....a big 90 one coming up.....

 

TAX TIME.....

I am always happy when I get my taxes to my tax man......doesn't change much from year to year....but don't want to deal with the government!  Last week was busy with dr. appointments and nails and baby shower for Alex and Ashlyn.....We had it at Pam's .....Sherrie and Libby did  a good job on decorations and food.  Ashlyn's mom, grandma, aunt , and sister-in-laws came...Kay...Kim and Deanne....Tiff and Liz....Patty and I.  So many cute baby clothes now days.  We are counting the weeks now.... Income Tax man.....thankgoodness

 I was pretty organized this year....and today went well....I pay some on state tax and get some back from Federal.....anyway.....done for another year!

Yesterday was cleaning day.....Merrie Maids came in the morning and I went to Costco in tthe afternoon.....had a little over a half tank of gas....but decided with gas going up everyday I would top it off......Forty=two dollars! I guess a tank now days would be about eighty dollars....How can people handle this?  

Tomorrow and Thursday doctor appointments.....Friday nails and Saturday a baby shower at Pam's for Ashlyn.....and another week AND almost another month has flown by in my life.....

Cold and sunny weather.

 

OUT TO LUNCH.....

There comes a time when you don't have the energy or desire to impress anyone......Just being yourself is all that you can handle....last week flew by.....I tended Pam's dog and got to tell Rob goodbye for a few weeks again.....Saturday......Mike and Katie came and took me to lunch down town to City Creek Mall ....to the BLUE MOON BISTRO.....it was fun to get out and one on each arm....I made it....my birthday luncheon.   Sunday.....quiet snowy day.

 

HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY....

I have the dog.....Bree.....while they spend a couple of nights in Wendover.....40 some years....not sure how many.  Rob has to head back to Detroit and Amazon Saturday.....but may get back here soon.....he is ready.....not to crazy about Detroit......Will and Liz and two dogs have moved into Pam's basement for a few weeks while their house is being remodeled.....that is why grandmas and parents have basements....I guess.

 

JUST ANOTHER DAY....

My cute neighbor just brought me a sack of  "Hydration Multiplier' an electrolyte drink mix for my water...I have got to start drinking more water and talking myself into eating more......then maybe I will start feeling better???  She got it  at Costco...and it is an early Birthday present.....!

Yesterday....we had a little luncheon for a couple of our neighbor ladies...there are 6 of us who take care of each other...I am so lucky.....and we are looking forard to warm weather and visiting as we do yard work.....

I am struggling to get on this "SPRING FORWARD"......schedule we have to go thru twice a year....when I wake up and the clock says it is seven-thirty.....and I know two days ago at this time the clock said.....six-thirty....how do I argue with my body.....I never get up at six-thirty....so I roll over and sleep another hour!

 

MARCH IS MARCHNG ON......

Old is just a word......You can be old at 40.....50.....or 90!.....it is your choice.....I will soon be 90 and am finally admitting .....I am old....My arthritis is taking over....I am tired all the time....not interested in food..my heating pad is my best friend......etc.

Can't belive two weeks have passed since I blogged....one day just fades into another...see the kids some....and the neighbors.....and a few friends left at this age....plus the weather plays a big part to me going out or not....so afraid of falling down and breaking something....which is a death sentence at 90. ....But can't complain....this body has served me well for many years.

Sherrie, Alex and Ashlyn stayed all night last weekend on their way to Wayko Texas to check out "tiny houses" as they are doing a B and B with the shipping containers.....in Vernal.  Friend Patty comes for coffee once a week.....and neighbors drop in.

Last night went to Pam's for dinner....Robby is home for 9 days.....so nice family dinner.  Next chore on my list...DO MY TAXES!
