OUR TRUE WORTH

Some times we have a bad day.............For any number of reasons. You know when it seems like
a World Against Betty day! Some times we just need to be reminded we really are special. I love this story.
A well-known speaker started off his seminar by: holding up a $20.00 bill. In a room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 dollar bill?"
Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give the $20 dollar bill to one of you but first, let me do this.
He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.
He then ask, "Who still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in the air.
Well, he replied, "What if I do this?"
And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.
"Now, who still wants it?"
Still the hands went into the air.
My friends he said we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did, it did not decrease in value.
It was still worth $20 dollars.
Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.
Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who Do Love you.
The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by who we are.
You are special......don't ever forget it."
Count your blessings, not your problems.
NEVER give up, just remember: amateurs built the ark..........professionsals built the Titanic.
All we have is THIS MINUTE-RIGHT NOW.............enjoy!

Beijing Summer's Olympics

Had a great weekend! Tiff and I got a pizza and setteled in to watch the Opening Ceremonies of
the Summer Olympics coming from Beijing..............Friday night..........and stayed pretty well glued to the TV the whole weekend. It was truly a fabulous sight and to be able to witness it in your comfortable chair in front of the TV with a big slice of pizza was such a treat. We had a much better seat than many of the ticket holders had. I have been lucky to have been to Beijing and seen it with my own eyes and walk Tenimin Square so know what a great feeling it can be. Of course, I would like to go back someday and see the Ice Cube and the wonderful bird nest and all the other buildings, but we shall see? At my age there may never be another Summer Olympics for me, so I am experiencing this one with all my heart and soul. In the middle of Saturday nights swim meet we got a text message from my oldest grandson.......he had been
playing water basket ball and someone came down on his head with an elbow and he was on his
way to the hospital to get sewed up.......seven stiches.....no less. I guess this to will pass...........and
boys will be boys come to my mind.
Just made plans with my sister to do a driving tour in October of the New England states to view
the Famous Fall Foliage...........Any helpful hints or suggests from either people who live there or
people who have been there done that, "The TWO LITTLE 'OLE LADIES FROM COLORADO" would appreciate it.

What I do know!

Today is the beginning of a new day.....
God has given me this day to use as I will,
I can waste it or I can use it well,
But, what I do with this day is important
Because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.
Tomorrow, this day will be gone forever,
Leaving in it's place what I traded it for.
I want it to be a win, not a loss.........
A success, not a failure.........
Good not evil........
In order that I will never regret
the price that I paid for this day.

As the years go by and I watch the hands on the clock tick off the minutes I have left here on this earth I do realize tomorrow, this day will be gone forever leaving in it's place all the things
I did or didn't do right here on earth today. I want to make every minute I have left really count. I have this saying memorized and say it often. It is a good tool to bring you into focus and try harder.

You Gotta Journal

Before my second granddaughter went off to her new job after graduating from college, I
gave her a journal and a pen and pencil set and told her to write down all her experiences as she
started a new chapter in her life..........good or bad........and always, ALWAYS date each entry. I
know it can be a struggle some times, but it is great to look back over your life in the past. It
is also a way to help you focus and get past some hard times. JOURNALS only listen, they don't
talk back or judge you!
When I teach Journal classes, I teach there are many ways to journal......... now my granddaughter has taught me a new way to journal. She keeps us all informed on her where abouts and fun things she has been doing. My family assured me I could learn how to use it. Now I have another tool to do my journaling! Yes, I love it. My first try, everything I typed was translated into Hindu, but my granddaughter knew just what to do to take care of it for me, but I did feel pretty important knowing I could even journal in Hindu!

New Directions In Creative Journaling

Travel, travel, travel.............Journal, journal, journal. Two of the most satisfying things in my life. I will not be like the Fortune Hunter who traveled the world over in search of the Great Treasures of Life...........only to return home exhausted and discover that all I need is, and has been, in my own back yard.
Yes, I travel as much as possible. In fact I have been badly infected by a "Travel Bug"........I call
him Homer! Homer bit me in high school in a small town in Colorado. I followed with all the symptoms and lived only to be 21, so I could become and "Air Line Stewardess".........which I did.
I have not stopped traveling since.
I have been and will continue my quest of visiting as many countries as I can around the world.
Some day I will have to hang up my "DUNN ROVIN" sign over my door, but maybe not for a few more years. My goal was to get 100 countries so I could belong to the "100 Countries Country Club", I did hit that goal a few years ago. I have been to six of the seven continents on my list and only eight more of the 50 U.S. states to go.
I would love to hear from some of the other world travels and compare notes.

Test Run

So Tiffany made me start this and here is my first attempt to reach the world...
